Google AdSense Ninja Tactics

On a rough note Google AdSense for those who aren’t familiar is an online marketing service being offered by the internet company giant Google. Google AdSense will put relevant ads based on your content on your website. You earn money when your visitors click on the ads and end up buying the products or services.

I discovered what could very well be a one of many Google AdSense ninja tactics out there while I was googling the keyphrase “day spa in adelaide”. Now this is open to speculation and I welcome your thoughts on this. This is the website that caught my attention. At the time of my search they rank 10th on the 1st page of the search results.

Google Search Results

At first glance the website looks like an online directory listing for all day spas located in Adelaide but further investigation has made me become suspicious of its overall intent. Moving into the content you are bombarded right away with 8 Google AdSense ads right at the top after the page title. Some reasonable but questionable content follows that and again more Google AdSense ads are located at the bottom of the page.

The website is powered by the awesome blogging platform we all know and love which is WordPress. It’s also using…aha!…a plug-in called Easy AdSense.

So as you browse through the website it should be obvious to the keen eye and alert mind that the website is being used as a vehicle to host a whole bunch of Google AdSense ads while taking advantage of the profitable key phrase “day spa in adelaide”. Why profitable? If you look back at the search results page screenshot, there aren’t many sponsored Google AdWords ads (found on the right – there are only 3) using that keyphrase.

What I consider as profitable keywords are the one’s with less competition but highly searched for. In this case the keyphrase is targeted locally within a specific location so using Google’s Keyword tool might not give you the insight you’re looking for.

Funny enough, on the same results page under the local listing, the first on the list is Cream Day Spa.

Local Listing

Again you will see similar tactics being employed to promote Google AdSense ads. The website managed to get listed on top of the local listing due to some rather clever SEO strategies. I even tried calling the business number several times and it appears to be unreachable. Hmmm…

I went on further to check both site’s WHOIS records and it doesn’t appear to be related.

My next question is this. Is Google AdSense still a lucrative money generator? I know I haven’t seen a reasonable amount of profit with some people I do know who are implementing it in their blogs. Now these strategies may be old school but I’m just starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Are my deductions correct or am I losing my mind? You tell me.

That $75 dollar Google AdWords credit isn’t enough to start seeing profits unless you get lucky on a single product. Google knows you need at least spend $100 to start seeing profits so that $75 is just there to get you started. Cool article.

Thanks for the comment ChickenCoopPro. You are right. The $75 dollar Google AdWords credit is there to get you started with PPC Marketing. Unless you find a product or service that yields high conversion rates then you’re an instant winner.
